Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia is back in individual training after a long-term injury kept him out of contention with the first team throughout the start of the season.
Tyrell Malacia, who joined the club from Feyenoord for £15 million, has been out of action due to the Dutchman suffering an injury towards the end of Erik ten Hag’s first season at Manchester United.
United’s problems at left-back have been well documented with Malacia, Luke Shaw and Sergio Reguilon suffering injuries throughout the season.
Well, it finally seems that Malacia is set to return to light training after months out of first-team action for the Red Devils.

Malacia returns to individual training
After picking up a knee injury during the Netherlands’ international games in the summer, Malacia has had surgery on that knee issue that has kept him out and he is now finally making progress with his comeback.
According to The Athletic, Malacia is back in individual training and has had his first session of solo work, training with the ball, which is a huge coup for the Red Devils.
A return to individual training for the Dutchman is seemingly the first step on the road to recovery for the left-back.
It could still be a few weeks until Malacia rejoins the first team for full training – but this is a move in the right direction.
Who starts at left-back
Depending on how Shaw recovers from the muscle injury he suffered two months ago, the position of left-back may well be up for grabs.
Once all the first-team options return, United would have a surplus of defenders who can play in that position, four players if we’re including Diogo Dalot, who filled in at left-back in the 3-1 defeat against Arsenal and was superb against Sheffield United.
Malacia may well have his work cut out when he returns with summer signing Reguilon also excelling since he completed his loan move from Tottenham Hotspur.
If Shaw does return fit and firing, however, Ten Hag will have a simple decision and the Englishman will be reinstated into the first team.
