Manchester United have had two players named in the BBC Sport team of the week after their 1-0 win over Fulham.
In what was an important fixture for their hopes of keeping up with the top four, it was a late, great Bruno Fernandes goal which was enough for the points.
The pressure was beginning to build on Erik ten Hag with The Times saying he was on ‘thin ice’ with the Manchester United hierarchy but it now looks like he has weathered that storm.
The Red Devils now go into a crucial Champions League clash against FC Copenhagen with the wind in their sails and the three points needed by any means necessary.

Two players named in team of the week
Garth Crooks decided that Fernandes and Harry Maguire were the players who deserved a spot in his team of the week and it’s hard to disagree with the BBC pundit.
“Against a difficult and purposeful Fulham side, Maguire was brilliantly effective,” Crooks said on BBC Sport. “No frills or skills. but you’re not going to get that from the former United captain. What you are going to get is commitment and a sharp competitive edge, and that’s precisely what ten Hag’s side needs at the moment.”
The Englishman looked set to depart the club in the summer, with a move to West Ham United lined up but the defender stayed and is now proving himself at the highest level.
‘It was a real captain’s performance’
Crooks was full of praise for Fernandes who has also come in for some harsh criticism this season but it was the United captain’s calmness in front of goal that won the Red Devils the game.
“Love him or loathe him, you can’t ignore him – Bruno Fernandes is too good a player,” Crooks said. “Fernandes didn’t just provide the winning goal, he saved Erik ten Hag from having another week full of speculation about his job and his ability to manage United. A true captain’s performance if ever I saw one.”
Fernandes really did rescue Ten Hag from being put under real pressure and the Portuguese midfielder, who has been linked with a bizarre move to Saudi Arabia, needs to put in another captain’s performance against Copenhagen on Wednesday.
