Thomas Frank is the latest Premier League manager to receive his marching orders after being sacked by Tottenham.
It has been a bad week for managers previously linked with the Manchester United job.
Thomas Frank, 50, has been dismissed at Tottenham after taking over from Ange Postecoglou in the summer.
The Dane, who was heavily linked with the United job towards the end of Erik ten Hag’s reign at Old Trafford, leaves Tottenham 16th in the Premier League.
Tottenham failed to win any of their last eight league matches under Frank, including a 2-0 defeat against United last weekend.
Who do you think will be Man Utd manager at the start of the 2026/27 season?
🔮 Let us know who you believe will and should be in charge? Who will Ineos appoint?
The highlight from Frank’s time at Tottenham is their fourth-place finish in the Champions League league phase to advance to the round of 16.
After watching Spurs struggle under Frank, United would feel as though they made the right call if Ruben Amorim’s tenure hadn’t been short-lived.
It remains to be seen who Tottenham will appoint as Frank’s successor.

Marseille part ways with Man Utd-linked Roberto De Zerbi
Former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has been linked with the United job since Amorim was sacked at the beginning of January.
However, in that period, some serious questions were asked of De Zerbi at Marseille.
It was confirmed on Tuesday night that De Zerbi has left Marseille following a mutual agreement.
Marseille suffered a 5-0 hammering against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, and that proved to be De Zerbi’s final game in charge.
De Zerbi leaves Marseille fourth in Ligue 1 and that could make Ineos think twice about appointing the Italian coach at the end of the season.
Michael Carrick is currently doing a good job as interim head coach, winning three matches and drawing one since returning to Old Trafford.
Would you want Roberto de Zerbi to be Manchester United’s next permanent manager?
What reasons for and against stand out to you?
Thomas Frank record against Man Utd as Tottenham manager
Frank only took charge of Tottenham for two matches against United.
Having enjoyed two wins over the Red Devils during his time at Brentford, the best Frank could manage at Tottenham was a 2-2 draw earlier this season.
United made light work of Tottenham at the weekend after Cristian Romero was sent off for a reckless challenge on Casemiro.
It remains to be seen where Frank will end up next, but it’s unlikely to be Old Trafford.
