Manchester United fans are all feeling somewhat torn after the club ‘make history’.
United advanced to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after a fantastic 3-0 win against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
Goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Anthony Martial were enough to send the Red Devils through, who found out their next opponents last night.
They will face Newcastle United, in a rematch of last season’s final. It’s an exciting draw, but fans are somewhat torn with the tie after the club ‘make history’.

Manchester United ‘make history‘ after being drawn to play 12 consecutive domestic cup ties at home. Thus comes the fourth-round draw, which obviously pitted United against the Geordies.
The extraordinary run dates back to a defeat at Leicester in March 2021, and has set a new record for the most number of consecutive home ties.
Fans are torn
Despite the fact that it is always a better draw to be at home for fans, some Red Devils supporters – particularly the match-going ones are becoming ever-frustrated home draws.
The reason is two things. One – they love an away day. One of the best bits about the cup is travelling to different places in the UK with your pals, but United hasn’t had this feeling in a long time.
“12 home draws in cup competitions? When can we have an away cup draw?” one fan writes.
“Please. No home draw,” another match-going fan wrote before the draw took place.
“Another draw at home! Shock!!!” a third adds.
The second reason? Purely the cost. If you have a season ticket, the club will automatically take the next cup game out of your bank, meaning this long run has cost a pretty penny for a lot of supporters.
“Next season think I’ll opt out of Carabao to save a bit of money!!!” a fan writes.
“Another home draw. This is crazy. Spending a fortune on cup games over the last 2 years. Hey ho, it’s another night under the lights of the Theatre of Dreams,” another adds, with the right attitude.
It’s typical for United fans to complain about something that greatly benefits us… but hey – the grass is always greener!
