Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray has warned fellow Championship sides that Manchester United loanee Amad is “coming” for them.
The 20-year-old scored his second goal in three games for the Black Cats to seal Mowbray’s side 2-0 win against Huddersfield Town last night.
Having played a starring role in the Stadium of Light side opening the scoring at the John Smith’s Stadium, the young Ivorian scored a breakaway goal deep into injury time.

Sunderland and United’s number 16 has now completed the full 90 minutes in his last three appearances, and his importance and influence in Mowbray’s side looks to be rapidly growing.
Mowbray warns Championship sides that Amad is coming for them
Ever since moving up north on a season-long loan, the former Blackburn Rovers manager has repeatedly called on the former Atalanta starlet to become more ruthless in front of goal and improve his end product.
But in recent weeks, it looks like things maybe clicking into place for the whizkid and he’s currently in the midst of a purple patch.
Following last night’s win against The Terriers, Mowbray was full of praise for the youngster who spent the second half of last season on loan at Rangers.

Mowbray said: “I got total confidence that Amad is a first team footballer now. His tightness with the ball, the goals he can score, when he breaks away and dances past people – he looks as if he’s sharp and a real talent.”
Amad combined with former Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts down Sunderland’s right with a neat piece of interplay which resulted in Alex Pritchard opening the scoring against his former club.
Commenting on Amad and Roberts’ link-up, Mowbray said: “First goal was amazing. That’s what Roberts and Amad can do – lovely little clever fast feet – cut teams open.”
Expanding on how impressed he’s been with Amad, Mowbray sent an ominous warning to the rest of the league by declaring the young forward was “coming”.
Speaking via ChronicleLive, Mowbray said: “Amad is coming. It took him a bit of time, but he isn’t a young unknown – Manchester United bought him from Atalanta for a lot of money and he is here to play football and to experience the expectation of the crowd.
“He’s had to force his way into the team and his talent is undoubted. It’s good for him and it’s good for the team that we have unearthed another starter.
“In my mind, when I pick the team, I’m still trying to blood the young lads, but I think he has gone past that now and he can affect the starting XI.”
Amad will be hoping to continue his rich vein of form when Sunderland host Cardiff City on Saturday.
