Tim Sherwood was delighted for Harry Maguire following his goal for Manchester United against Copenhagen.

Harry Maguire continued his impressive redemption arc last night at Old Trafford against Copenhagen.

This latest display even prompted Erik ten Hag to praise Maguire, as he said the defender has a ‘good skill.

Tim Sherwood is another who has praised Maguire while speaking on Sky Sports.

Sherwood praises Maguire

Sherwood was full of praise and was visibly happy for the former United captain.

“His biggest critic is the manager, he’s been trying to get him out, he didn’t wanna leave, he was pumping his chest with the badge on after he scored.

“I think that was redemption for the boy, it’s a credit to him that he stayed and fought for his place at Manchester United.

“He knows he’s not going to go to a bigger club than Manchester United, so he wants to stay, he’s probably looked at the players in his position and seen how flaky they are and probably thinks ‘You know what I’ll bide my time, ill get a run in the team.'”

“I’ll give him a lot of credit for that.”

Redemption arc nearly complete

Maguire has gone from the most hated player at the club to one of the most beloved over the past few weeks.

This has been down to his own hard work and solid performances which has won over the majority of fans.

His goal to get United off the mark in the Champions League this season is just the latest contribution in a wonderful spell for Maguire.

It certainly now doesn’t look like he will be sold anytime soon as he proves invaluable to Ten Hag.
