Alexis Sanchez looked badly off his game in the Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain.
He came on just before half-time as a replacement for Jesse Lingard. United were noticeably weaker with Sanchez in Lingard’s place.
There was no sign of the player who popped up to score against Arsenal last month.Sanchez offered no attacking threat and was easily dealt with by PSG.
A new report has shed some light on why it went so badly.

The real reason behind it?
The Mail report Sanchez suffered an injury during his warm up.
The report alleges Sanchez ran into a linesman on the touchline and fell to the ground.
He reportedly told United’s coaching staff that he hurt his leg above the knee.
This was behind Sanchez training on his own at half-time as he tried to run it off.
The report suggests that this is the reason for Sanchez’s below par performance.

Analysis
Nobody comes out of this looking good. Sanchez looks careless, and let’s face it, his performance against PSG wasn’t that different to others he has served up over the past year.
If the injury was that bad, or believed to be affecting Sanchez, then United’s coaches should substituted him midway through the half, or early on, before we conceded.
Sanchez is now reported to be facing a battle to face Chelsea on Monday, along with Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.
