The packages are said to be designed to make it easier for fans travelling from across the UK and around the world to experience Old Trafford.

United’s chief business officer, Marc Armstrong, told club media: “Manchester United has passionate and loyal supporters across the world and, for some, a visit to Old Trafford is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Through the expertise and global reach of Champions Travel and Travel Connection, we are making it easier than ever for fans to plan their trip and enjoy the high-quality service and memorable experience they expect with Manchester United.”

Uncertainty over Champions League packages with Man Utd’s new partnership

United’s announcement of Champions Travel and Travel Connection as their new Official Match Breaks partners – active from the 2026/27 season – conspicuously omitted any mention of Champions League packages.

The absence of European away and Champions League packages in the deal’s opening briefing does not necessarily rule them out; however, it was a detail that should have been clarified from the outset to manage fan expectations.

While the club has the finer details ironed out behind the scenes, the silence leaves United fans wondering whether European away travel will be handled as we return to Europe’s most prestigious tournament.

Should Champions Travel and Travel Connection assume control of the European packages – an area where SportsBreaks occasionally faltered – it could streamline logistics for United fans travelling across Europe next season, provided the new operators can deliver consistently.

These are the questions left unanswered from United’s latest partnership announcement.

Man Utd move on from SportsBreaks

The news marks an abrupt shift in United’s commercial strategy, coming just nine months after the club extended its partnership with SportsBreaks.

SportsBreaks served as United’s official fan travel partner for four seasons before their agreement was renewed for the most recent campaign.

While SportsBreaks attempted to provide a necessary service for European fixtures, its reputation among United fans was mixed, with several supporters raising concerns over their experience.

There was an entire season – not including 2025/26 – when SportsBreaks failed to run a single European away trip. They’ve also cancelled trips with very short notice.

Speaking to United In Focus, a United fan who travelled to the 2024 Europa League final in Bilbao reflects on the experience of getting to the game through SportsBreaks.

“I booked the 2024 Europa League final through SportsBreaks.

“Getting to Bilbao was tough. There was uncertainty over the airport terminal and a long wait for the travel arrangements, including flight time.

“The trip was expensive, as you’d expect for a Europa League final, but it helped getting dropped off and picked up from the Fan Zone on match day.”
