The 1958 insist ‘full sale only’ as third takeover deadline passes

As the third round of bidding deadline passes, The 1958 have emphasised more than ever, that nothing but a full sale will suffice.

With the two main bidders having bid, it now appears a matter of now or never. With the fate of Manchester United now resting in the hands of the Glazers. The United takeover promises to be the largest sale in sports history.

The 1958 however have been eager to remind everyone that we must not accept anything but a full sale.

The fan group tweeted on their account, “The deadline has passed. But the message from the fan base is still crystal clear. FULL SALE ONLY!”

This comes as a direct opposition to the rumoured interest from investment firms. Also with a slight hint at Sir Jim Ratcliffe who isn’t bidding for full ownership.

The 1958 also ensured fans that the ‘Glazers Out’ protest will go ahead this Sunday prior to the Villa game.

What do we know about the bids?

The first bid to go in was the Qatari bid from Sheikh Jassim. The bid included a reported by the BBC to be a world record bid of over £5 billion. The Sheikh also has the benefit of promising to eradicate the debt and invest heavily in infrastructure.

The bid is said to be a take it or leave it offer, with the Sheikh believing now is the time for the Glazer family to sell.

The secondary bid is from Mr. Ratcliffe who has offered a figure below the Qatar offer. However he offers the Glazers an opportunity to remain at the club, in a minority shareholder role.

This is absolutely not what fans wants and it is difficult to see this coming off. It seems to be crystal clear which bid should be successful, if the Glazer’s are intent on selling.
