Antony delivered on his debut for Manchester United, scoring the opening goal of the game as the Red Devils beat Arsenal 3-1.
Substituted on 58 minutes, this was just a glimpse of Antony’s quality, with the winger taking one touch to finish his chance past the floundering Aaron Ramsdale.
The Brazil international already looks set to become a fan favourite, grabbing the Manchester United badge as he passionately celebrated his dream debut goal.
Erik ten Hag pushed to sign his former Ajax winger, and he spoke to the club website after the game about the 22-year-old’s qualities.

Antony is going to get better
Ten Hag warned the rest of the Premier League that Antony is going to get a lot better, having had just a couple of days to settle in before making his debut.
But he was more than pleased with his contribution against Arsenal, and believes the Brazilian is United’s ‘missing link’ in attack.
He said: “I think we have already seen what a threat he is. Speed and creativity are a real threat in the Premier League. And he is a part of it. And I think we missed a player on the right wing because all the players that can play there like Jadon Sancho, like Marcus Rashford, prefer more the centre or the left side.
“Now, we have the one who can play really good over the right wing, so there was a missing link. Now, today’s first performance here, he did well, but he can step up.
“I know him from Amsterdam. I know this is a different league, but there is potential and he will get that. He will be even better than he was today.”
Ten Hag could throw Antony in against Real Sociedad later this week when the Europa League kicks off.
Antony will be desperate to get back out there at Old Trafford again, and likewise, United fans can’t wait to see him.
The new signing completes United’s attacking options, which will become even stronger when Anthony Martial returns from injury.
