Ten Hag has one-to-one chat with Hannibal after Manchester United training

Erik ten Hag has been pictured having a one-to-one chat with Manchester United wonderkid Hannibal Mejbri after training.

The Tunisian international is one of the most talented prospects to come through the Manchester United academy following his arrival from Monaco three years ago.

The 19-year-old made his first senior start for the Red Devils in last season’s final game against Crystal Palace.

United’s number 46 made his first appearance under Ten Hag against the Eagles in Tuesday’s 3-1 win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Having been introduced from the bench in the 66th minute, the 16-time Tunisia international tested Palace stopper Remi Matthews from range.

Ten Hag has one-to-one chat with Hannibal

The teenager will be hoping to get more game time under the former Ajax manager when the Reds face Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa in Perth on Saturday.

With the 52-year-old speaking about the benefits of having a big squad this season, due to our participation in the Europa League and with a winter World Cup to contend with, Hannibal will be hoping to get several chances to impress the Dutchman.

With the Premier League re-introducing the five substitutes rule, Hannibal’s chances of getting called upon have increased and with Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata all leaving as free agents, United’s talented pool of youngsters will be aiming to capitalise on the group of senior players departing.

After our first training session in Perth, a video has emerged on social media of Ten Hag having a one-to-one chat with the African starlet.

An animated Ten Hag looked to be passing on a wealth of instructions to Hannibal and the new manager will be hoping that the youngster can soak up the information and implement it when he next features on the pitch.

The two-time Eredivisie winner has shown throughout his coaching career that he is willing to place his trust in youth.

Having one-to-one chats and coaching with his new manager will only benefit Hannibal and it’s testament to the whizkid that Ten Hag is reserving individual time to help unlock and fulfil his burgeoning potential.
