Sunderland player practices Antony's trademark 360 spin skill during warm up

Sunderland forward Leon Dajaku has been pictured practicing Manchester United star Antony‘s trademark 360 spin skill during a warm up.

The 21-year-old produced the piece of skill ahead of the Black Cats 0-0 draw against Preston North End at the Stadium of Light yesterday.

The former Union Berlin striker, who joined Sunderland in the summer, was seen copying the Brazilian’s party piece with Manchester United loanee Amad watching on.

Following his big-money to Old Trafford, United released a video of Antony spinning around at Carrington, giving United fans a glimpse of him in action.

United’s number 21 was frequently seen performing the skill in training sessions for Ajax, and even had the audacity to pull off the audacious piece of skill in matches too.

The Brazilian possesses the self-belief, trickery, ball control and confidence to try these unbelievable pieces of skills in matches.

The 22-year-old showcased his dazzling footwork on his Manchester United debut when he came up against Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko, a game in which the former Ajax star scored on his Red Devils bow.

It seems that other players are being inspired by Antony’s eye-catching piece of skill and are seemingly keen to perfect it like the joga bonito ace.

Antony produced a dazzling piece of skill which embarrassed two Ghana defenders during last month’s international break.

It’s testament to the influence Antony has already had on European football that other players are keen to copy him.

Erik ten Hag brought the 11-time Brazil international to Amsterdam from Sau Paulo in the summer of 2020, and the pair won back-to-back Eredivisie titles together alongside fellow summer signing and ex-Ajax man Lisandro Martinez.

Given his confidence, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Antony show his full array of skills in his first Manchester derby at the Etihad this afternoon.
