Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has provided an injury update on Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson who came off against Barnsley.
The 25-year-old looked uncomfortable as he went to take a kick in the first half of the 0-0 draw at Oakwell.

The one-time England international couldn’t continue and was replaced by Forest’s fellow new signing Wayne Hennessey.

With Forest’s first Premier League game of the season coming in 20 days time when they travel to Newcastle United. Cooper has confirmed that Henderson’s withdrawal was a precaution.
Speaking to NottinghamshireLive, Cooper said: “It was a precaution.
“Its been a really heavy week physically, including for the goalkeepers.
“He’s not injured, he’s fine. He just felt his groin a little bit.
“He did the right thing by coming off.”

Cooper also commented on Hennessey’s arrival and it looks like Henderson could have a battle on his hands to secure the number one spot ahead of the trip to St James’ Park.
Forest’s boss added: “On the flip side, it was great to get Wayne involved. They were going to play 45 minutes each anyway, that was part of the plan.
“He’s only been in the building a couple of days and already he’s a real presence around the place.
“As well as being a good goalkeeper, that was one of the real reasons why we wanted him here.
“All of these guys want to play. It’s good that he’s had the opportunity to do it sooner rather than later.”

Henderson will be hoping to prove his fitness ahead of Forest’s next pre-season friendly which sees them face Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin on Wednesday.
