Rasmus Hojlund believes that there is an exciting crop of young players at Manchester United and they are determined to succeed at the club.

The Manchester United striker scored a real centre-forward’s goal for the Red Devils as Luke Shaw’s low cross was bundled in by Rasmus Hojlund, the Danish youngster.

It has been a tough time not just for Hojlund but everyone at United with the club already looking like it will be playing another year outside of Europe’s elite club competition.

As for Hojlund, he did superbly well in the Champions League scoring five goals for the Red Devils but has struggled in the Premier League but that has seemingly changed.

The Danish striker has scored in his past three league appearances for the Red Devils and looks to be going from strength to strength.

Hojlund on new era

As per The Athletic, the Danish striker has spoken about the dawn of a new era at Old Trafford with a plethora of academy players being involved in first-team training sessions.

“I think I’ve said before that us young guys, we have a little group and we’re chatting to each other and it’s very cool to have other young players around the team and hopefully we can set an era for the club and be here many years together,” Hojlund said.

“If you’re good enough, you’re old enough and I think that’s a good thing. And we’re here for a reason.”

This season, Kobbie Mainoo has been the breakout star for the Red Devils, last campaign it was Alejandro Garnacho and the hope will be that one more star will come through the ranks next season.

Who could be the star next season

Perhaps it will be the talented Shea Lacey who will make the step up into the United first team next season when he will be 17 or perhaps it’s Jack Fletcher, son of Darren, who has already drawn comparisons to Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer.

The most important thing for United is they continue to bring through these academy players. As has been shown with Isak Hansen-Aaroen, not all of them will make it at the club.

Bringing through these players will do wonders for the club and it could be argued the Red Devils have already saved £100 million with the development of the sensational Mainoo.
