Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has praised Erik ten Hag following the 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Wednesday night.

United really needed a big win over Chelsea after a testing few days.

From a dire defeat at Newcastle United to rumours of dressing room unrest and then the banning of certain journalists from Erik ten Hag’s press conference, we have seen a chaotic few days around United.

Ten Hag really needed a win against Chelsea and he delivered with Scott McTominay bagging a brace to give United the 2-1 victory.

Sofyan Amrabat raves about Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag

This will hopefully quieten the noise around Ten Hag, even if only for a few days.

The Dutchman is going through his most turbulent time as United boss but still has love from midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Fiorentina loanee Amrabat worked under Ten Hag at Utrecht between 2015 and 2017, reuniting at Old Trafford in September.

Amrabat enjoyed arguably his best United performance yet on Wednesday night and he moved to praise Ten Hag after the full-time whistle.

Amrabat told beIN SPORTS that he thinks Ten Hag is a ‘fantastic coach’ and thought that during their time together at Utrecht.

The Moroccan feels that Ten Hag has improved with experience and is now one of the best coaches in the world.

Amrabat made a point to state that everyone at United is behind Ten Hag despite claims of some unrest in the dressing room.

“Ten Hag is a fantastic coach,” said Amrabat. “Of course, I worked with him seven years ago, so it’s a long time! Already in that moment, he was a fantastic manager, but now, he’s one of the best in the world. He’s more experienced, he did a fantastic job everywhere he went – Ajax, here in the first season, so yes, he’s a fantastic coach and we are all behind him,” he added.

Amrabat stats v Chelsea

United fans have been a little disappointed with Amrabat so far.

The 27-year-old was so exceptional at the World Cup last year that many United fans were probably expecting the same displays.

That hasn’t really happened so far, but Amrabat impressed against Chelsea.

Amrabat recorded three tackles, two successful dribbles and one key pass, as well as 45 accurate passes in United’s midfield.

This provided a strong base for United in midfield and Amrabat did not look out of place against the expensive duo of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Hopefully, Amrabat can now kick on and start to show his best form as United head towards a busy festive period.
