Manchester United are planning to return to the negotiating table to sign Antony from Ajax.
Sky Sports report United are set to make a ‘massive offer’ for the Brazil international.
‘Massive offer’ for Antony
Ajax set a price of £70 million earlier in the transfer window to attempt to deter Manchester United. The Times reported the player was ‘determined’ to join the Red Devils.
Goal Brasil reported earlier this week: “Manchester United believes that in the final stretch of the window, Ajax can accept a lower value than expected to sell the Brazilian.”
The report stated that United had an earlier offer of 60 million Euros (£50 million) turned down earlier in the window.
United have not given up and believe Ajax will relent on their 80m Euro asking price £67 million, and come to an agreement before the transfer deadline.

Erik ten Hag is a huge admirer of the player, signing him for Ajax in 2020 and helping him to become a star.
Antony has had an exciting start to the season for Ajax with two goals and two assists in three games.
The Times reported in July that Antony’s agent had been in Manchester for talks with the Red Devils.
Ajax already have a replacement, signing Francisco Conceicao from Porto.
Erik ten Hag spoke in the Dutch press in May via FCUpdate, about how much his Ajax team struggled for form when Antony was out injured: “We all miss him. Without Antony it is all a bit less fast and dynamic on the right, which also makes it more difficult for the team. Then the spaces become a lot smaller.”
This is one rumour which doesn’t appear to be going away just yet, and while Manchester United will have to pay big to make it happen, there is still a chance a deal gets done.
