Sir Jim Ratcliffe is about to bring ‘one of the best in the world’ to Man United

The appointment of former Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain Jean Claude Blanc as Manchester United’s CEO would be the ‘best thing that could happen’ to the Premier League giants.

That is the opinion of French reporter Abdellah Boulma, well-placed to pass judgement on the man who could replace the departed Richard Arnold at Old Trafford after seeing Jean Claude Blanc do his thing at close quarters across the Channel.

Blanc played a key role in PSG’s emergence as one of Europe’s premiere clubs. He also set Juventus on their way to a period of unprecedented dominance over in Serie A. Now working under Sir Jim Ratcliffe at Ineos’ sporting department, Blanc is expected to join the British billionaire at Manchester United once the Glazers finally agree to sell a 25 per cent stake in the Red Devils (talkSPORT).

Jean-Claude Blanc to be Manchester United’s CEO

“This is the best thing that could happen to Man U, if Blanc becomes CEO,” Boulma writes on X, via Red Central.

“Jean-Claude Blanc is the boss. He is one of the best CEO’s in the world.”

If you are one of the countless Manchester United supporters crying out for some genuine, best-in-class footballing expertise behind the scenes at Europe’s biggest underachievers, then the likely appointment of Blanc – and the subsequent departure of the oft-maligned Arnold – is undoubtedly a step in the right direction.

“We have high ambitions for all our sports teams,” Ratcliffe said when hiring Blanc at Ineos in 2022. “With a particular ambition to raise our standards in football. And Jean Claude will bring an entrepreneurial and innovative flair to all our teams.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe revolution

Blanc could precede the arrival of Paul Mitchell at Manchester United.

Another with a proven and rather formidable track record at the top level of European football. Mitchell, one of the continent’s most renowned talentspotters, was responsible for bringing the likes of Heung-Min Son, Toby Alderweireld and Sadio Mane to England during previous spells at Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.

FootMercato say that Mitchell is now ‘ready’ to join Ratcliffe’s revolution. He is available after leaving Monaco in October.
