Sir Bobby Charlton was part of one of the greatest Manchester United teams of all time.

Every Manchester United fan has their preference when it comes to the best players they’ve seen wear the shirt.

As one of the greatest players to play for the club, Sir Bobby Charlton’s opinion carries a lot of weight, which is why he spent years as a director during Sir Alex Ferguson’s successful reign as United manager.

That means nobody is better qualified to select an all-time best Manchester United XI than Charlton, who sadly passed away in October 2023. It is the ultimate tribute – for all players mentioned – to earn a place in Charlton’s team because he has seen most of the best players at Old Trafford.

Charlton played a key role in Sir Matt Busby’s European Cup-winning team in 1968 after coming back from the Munich Air Disaster 10 years prior, despite losing several of his teammates in the horrific crash.

Denis Law makes Sir Bobby Charlton’s all-time Manchester United XI

Charlton named his best-ever Manchester United XI in his autobiography, Sir Bobby Charlton: My Manchester United Years.

The team features players dating back to the 1950s but Charlton left himself out.

One of his teammates to feature is Denis Law, who has passed away this week at the age of 84.

Law was known as ‘The King’ of the Stretford End and you can see one of his statues outside Old Trafford, featuring George Best and Charlton.
