Leaks have confirmed that Sir Bobby Charlton will feature as an Icon card in the new EA Sports FIFA game, EA Sports FC.

The game will be called EA Sports FC due to FIFA and EA splitting ways. This means the name can no longer be associated with the long-standing title.

Each year EA add a bunch of new ‘Icon’ cards into their Ultimate Team roster. Current Manchester United legends include Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, George Best and many more.

Now it appears one of United, and football’s, all-time legends is making an appearance in the virtual football simulator.

Sir Bobby Charlton to feature in EA Sports FC

According to reliable FIFA leaker FUTZONEFIFA – Sir Bobby Charlton has been found in the code to feature in EA Sports FC!

What’s worth initially noting is none of his stats, or his rating are final. This will become available closer to the game’s release.

What we do know is this card is going to be absolutely sublime and a tonne of fun to use on Ultimate Team.

Sir Bobby Charlton is among the most important players in Manchester United’s history. Alongside this, he also helped England secure their only World Cup title to date on home soil in 1966.

His legacy at Old Trafford will forever be remembered for helping Sir Matt Busby rebuild Manchester United following the tragic Munich Air Disaster.

Charlton was just 20 years old but recovered from his injuries to return and reach the absolute peak of the domestic and international games.

Charlton plied his trade wherever needed while Manchester United rebuilt before he eventually settled in a deep-lying attacking role.

His efforts for club and country would also see Charlton receive a knighthood after an OBE and a CBE. He is the embodiment of an ‘Icon’ and more than deserves this status in EA Sports FC.
