Giuseppe Rossi has waxed lyrical about one Manchester United player that he shared the pitch alongside under iconic former manager Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.
The 38-year-old US-born former forward made 14 appearances for the Red Devils and Giuseppe Rossi netted four times and picked up one assist for the club.
Sir Alex Ferguson brought Rossi to Old Trafford in 2004 after he signed the former Manchester United player when he was part of the Parma youth set-up.
Rossi had loan spells out at Newcastle and Italian outfit Parma during his time at the Red Devils, but he struggled to establish himself in the United first-team squad.
The former Italy international left Old Trafford in 2007 in his bid to secure regular first-team football and Villarreal signed him for a reported £6.7m transfer fee.
Rossi became a mainstay at Villarreal and the ex-Italy and United forward made 192 appearances for the Spanish side and he scored 82 times and picked up 25 assists.
The former Villarreal star later played for the likes of Fiorentina, Genoa, Real Salt Lake and SPAL before he called it time on his professional playing career in 2023.

Giuseppe Rossi was blown away by what Man Utd icon Paul Scholes did under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford
Speaking to FourFourTwo, Giuseppe Rossi admitted that Paul Scholes’ ability on the ball was sublime and that the Manchester United legend was an incredible talent.
Sir Alex Ferguson named United legend Paul Scholes as one of the four world-class players that he managed at Old Trafford during his illustrious 26-year reign.
One of the famed ‘Class of ‘92’ breakout stars at United, Scholes spent his entire professional playing career at Old Trafford across two separate spells.
The 50-year-old United legend is widely regarded as one of the best Premier League midfielders in history and one of the best midfielders of all time.
When discussing Scholes, Rossi said: “This guy was ridiculous.
“He would ping a diagonal 50 yards or switch it left and right to ease pressure in a high-risk situation.
“‘Scholesy’ was one of the most gifted midfielders of his generation and able to score goals in any way possible.”
Giuseppe Rossi makes an admission about his time under former Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford
Despite leaving Old Trafford at only the age of 20, Rossi praised the incredible legacy that former United manager Ferguson left behind at Old Trafford.
“He protected players, managed egos and demanded respect, creating a winning culture that you trusted in,” he told the magazine.
“It takes a long time to establish. He left a legacy that is hard to follow. I’m blessed to have been on his team.”
Ferguson bowed out of United in 2013 after the Red Devils lifted their last Premier League title at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.
