Simon Jordan has suggested that one Manchester United player “didn’t have any choice” but to step in the 2024-25 campaign after he let the Red Devils “down.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon, with Bournemouth hosting the Red Devils at the Vitality Stadium for their match.
Ruben Amorim’s men languish in 14th place in the Premier League table and United have won one of their last five league matches ahead of the Bournemouth clash.
The Red Devils fell to their 15th Premier League defeat of the 2024-25 season last Sunday after Wolves snatched a 1-0 win over United at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim’s side have picked up 10 wins from 33 Premier League matches and only five league fixtures remain for the Red Devils in their current campaign.
United are tipped for their worst finish in the Premier League era and the Red Devils face an uphill task in finishing in the top half of the league table this season.
Amorim’s side are still in the Europa League and are through to the semi-finals after United defeated Lyon in a 5-4 comeback win in the second-leg tie at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford signed for Aston Villa back in February after the Red Devils loanee fell down the pecking order under Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.
The 27-year-old United player has been able to revive his career away from Old Trafford and has been playing first-team football under Aston Villa boss Unai Emery.
Villa did not pay a loan fee for the out-of-favour Red Devils forward and the club agreed to cover the large majority of Marcus Rashford’s United wages.
Unai Emery’s men will travel to Wembley on Saturday evening and Villa will face fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Simon Jordan, who was previously the chairman of Palace, admitted that Rashford “turned up at Villa Park” after he failed to deliver for the Red Devils this season.
“Talking of bias, I’m hoping my FA Cup tip, Aston Villa come unstuck this weekend and that Crystal Palace continue to have the evil eye over them, having won three of their last four meetings,” he wrote in his column for The Daily Mail.
“I’m also aware of the irony if, having been a staunch critical observer of Marcus Rashford, he’s the one that kills my boyhood team.
“Rashford turned up at Villa Park having let Manchester United down. The least he could have done was run around for them rather than recording podcasts played to soft music with a ‘woe is me’ mentality.”

Marcus Rashford is on loan at Villa Park for the remainder of the season and Villa have the option to sign the United and England star for a £40m transfer fee.
The United player has netted four times and picked up six assists in 17 matches for Villa and Rashford has emerged as a key player for Unai Emery since his arrival.
Jordan tipped Rashford to find his form again at Villa Park and the talkSPORT presenter added that the United player had no choice due to his England future.
“I predicted Villa would get a fit and firing Rashford,” he continued.
“He didn’t have any choice if he wanted to show new England manager Thomas Tuchel what he could do with a World Cup on the horizon.
“He’s had some good games for Unai Emery, including at the Etihad on Tuesday night, and could have another one at Wembley on Saturday. But I’d still be wary of turning his loan into a permanent transfer.”
Jordan added: “Assuming Manchester United want a £40million fee to help ease financial issues and Rashford won’t drop his £320k-a-week contract, it’s an investment too far.
“Rashford has been good in the short term but committing to him for three or four years would leave Villa facing the same challenges United had, despite the change of geography.
“Those problems he had in Manchester would manifest themselves eventually in Birmingham – which doesn’t mean I don’t fear what he can do to Palace in the semi-final!”
Either Aston Villa or Crystal Palace will meet the winner of Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City in the FA Cup final on 17th May at Wembley.
