Rasmus Hojlund is on his way to slowly becoming Manchester United’s next big thing.
The Danish forward added two more goals to his Manchester United tally against Luton Town, which saw him break a record of becoming the youngest Premier League player ever to score in six consecutive games.
After what was a frustrating start to life at Old Trafford, with goals few and far between in the English top flight, Hojlund has found his goal-scoring touch – and then some.
He’s been receiving praise left right and centre from pundits – including from one of the best to ever do it in the Premier League, Alan Shearer.

Alan Shearer on Rasmus Hojlund
Alan Shearer spoke on Match of the Day 2 about the forward in the post-match analysis. He had high praise for the Dane, but knew it was coming.
“His all-around game today and has been superb for a while now,” Shearer begins.
“At times I felt sorry for him because of his transfer fee and the questions that were being asked, how difficult it has been in this United team at times when they’ve not been creating as many chances as they should’ve been.
“But the one thing that never changed as the constant was this guy getting into dangerous positions and not being afraid to miss.”
He elaborated further on The Rest Is Football podcast: “I think he’s shown great character, he’s never stopped, his attitude has been superb and now he’s getting his reward for that.
“Take away his two goals, every other part of his game was excellent. He led the line well, he worked his socks off, and he brought people into the game because Luton went man for man. But yeah, I’m really pleased for him.”
Rasmus Hojlund is proof that perseverance pays off
Hojlund should be extremely proud of himself because even when he was going through his tough patch, it probably wasn’t all his fault.
United were seriously struggling to make any chances at all, and the wingers in particular had an issue of just not being able to find the Dane. He had to make his own chances.
Things still aren’t perfect – but they’re getting better, and that’s reflected in the rewards. Now the sky really is the limit for the Manchester United forward.
