Manchester United have been markedly better with the Belgian between the sticks, and his performances have earned him a spot as a leader already on the pitch.

Lammens has been one of the players of the season for United outside of Bruno Fernandes, with the £18m spent to sign him looking like a bargain.
Under Carrick’s management, Lammens has looked even better, and now he has explained why this may be.
Speaking on HBO Max, Lammens has heaped praise on Carrick for how easy he makes it to play for United.
“The feeling he gives you from the sidelines, even not saying that many things, just the feeling he gives you, and the feeling he gives you because he trusts you.
“It’s probably part of why we’ve looked the way we’ve looked on an individual level and why the players have thrived in this system. So yeah, I would say he just makes everything easier for everyone.”
