Sean Dyche expects his Everton side to be without two key players for the upcoming match with Manchester United.
Manchester United will be looking to make amends for their derby day defeat to Manchester City last weekend when they face Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off.
It was a hard 3-1 loss for Erik ten Hag’s team and one that has left their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season extremely slim.
The Dutchman has won all his games against Everton, including the 3-0 win at Goodison Park in November which saw Alejandro Garnacho score his sensational overhead kick.
United will be hoping for a similar result this weekend when they come up against a Toffees side that will likely be without two key players.
Everton injury news
Sean Dyche provided an update on Idrissa Gueye and Arnaut Danjuma, with both players likely to be unavailable at Old Trafford.
“Arnaut continues to make progress, not there yet,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “Gana will be unlikely but got a chance I would say.
“And a few knocks and bruises but everyone should be alright.”
United have their own injury problems
Everton’s injury concerns are nothing compared to United’s, who could still be missing eight players this weekend.
Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Ramus Hojlund, Mason Mount, Anthony Martial, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Tyrell Malacia are all sidelined.
That doesn’t even include Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Jonny Evans, who all played with knocks on Sunday.
Any team in the world would struggle without so many crucial players so it’s little wonder United have found things so difficult this season, especially without top scorer Hojlund in recent games.
United need a reprieve as soon as possible and hopefully, Ten Hag will bring positive news in his press conference on Friday.
