Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has given his reaction to his fantastic goal in the 3-3 draw against Galatasaray.
In a frantic and frenetic game, Scott McTominay’s finish past Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera looked to be a game-clinching moment from the Scottish midfielder.
However, Manchester United, as they always seem to do in the Champions League this season, failed to hold on to their lead and drew 3-3 against the Turkish side.
McTominay was good throughout the encounter in Istanbul as the rainy weather and the poor pitch conditions allowed for the Scottish powerhouse to take control of the game with Galatasaray’s midfield of Tanguy Ndombele and Lucas Torreira struggling to deal with his physicality.

McTominay on goal
The 26-year-old slid finish past Muslera was his fourth goal of the season for the Red Devils and the midfielder gave his reaction to the finish.
“It’s something I want to add to my game,” McTominay said to TNT Sport after the game. “I’m obviously delighted with that in terms of I think that’s my first Champions League goal.
“Hopefully the result goes away tonight and we can keep pushing forwards as well.”
On the game itself, the Scotsman said: “We should have scored more goals, to be honest with you. It was one of them things where the attacking boys had some good moments but also we need to find that extra way to get the ball in the back of the net, me included.”
McTominay should start against Newcastle
After how well the midfielder dealt with the hostile atmosphere at RAMS Park, the United academy graduate has to start at St James Park.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United had been linked with McTominay, so the midfielder needs to show why the former Bournemouth boss wanted to add him to his engine room at St James Park.
Perhaps starting McTominay alongside Kobbie Mainoo, as they did against Everton, would be the right decision.
McTominay could offer the physical prowess to deal with the Newcastle midfielders and Mainoo could add the composure that the Scotsman doesn’t offer. Erik Ten Hag has to stick with the engine room that he selected at Goodison Park.
