Manchester United’s summer transfer window ended up with some impressive names brought in, with Casemiro and Antony adding a late shine to the club’s business.
The one glaring error was a failure to sign a striker. It’s still unclear if United have enough options up front to last the season.
One striker linked with a move was Austria striker Sasa Kalajdzic, with Sky Sports reporting the 6ft 7″ Stuttgart forward was on United’s radar.
In the end United chose not to move for Kalajdzic, and he signed for Wolves for a fee of £15.5 million.

Kalajdzic tears ACL
Kalajdzic’s move to Wolves was not a case of him snubbing Manchester United, it was more the other way around. United simply chose not to pursue a striker, and were not moved by the prospect of seeing him sign for another Premier League club.
Unfortunately for the centre-forward, his spell at Wolves has got off to the worst possible start.
Kalajdzic made his first start for Wolves at the weekend and suffered a knee injury in their 1-0 win over Southampton.
Wolves have now confirmed this injury to be a torn ACL, stating: “Unfortunately, scans reveal an anterior cruciate injury and he will see a knee specialist tomorrow.”
This injury effectively rules Kalajdzic out for the season. In addition to being a blow for Wolves, this is also a nightmare for Austria manager Ralf Rangnick, who had hoped the forward would play regularly for his new club.
Injury was a red flag over Kalajdzic, potentially one of the reasons Manchester United did not push for a switch. He only started 13 Bundesliga games last season due to a shoulder problem.
