Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has insisted that Red Devils winger Alejandro Garnacho is the type of player who can make fans stand up out of their seats.

Garnacho is a fan favourite at Old Trafford and firmly established himself in the United first team under current Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag.

The 19-year-old Spain-born winger came through United’s youth academy after the Red Devils signed him from La Liga side Atletico Madrid for a fee worth £420,000.

Garnacho has shown his incredible class in a United T-shirt this season, with the Red Devils winger scoring a sensational overhead kick against Everton last November.

The United star earned widespread praise for his incredible strike in the 3-0 win over the Toffees at Goodison Park last November.

Giggs talks up United star Garnacho

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has previously urged Garnacho to take a page out of the playbook of United hero Giggs in a bid to consistently perform on the pitch.

Garnacho has impressed at times with moments of sheer brilliance, but the Argentina international has faced criticism over his lack of consistency.

Ten Hag has often deployed Garnacho out on the left wing, but the United star equally impressed on the right in his side’s 3-2 comeback win over Aston Villa.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Giggs spoke highly of Garnacho’s talent all the while aiming a brutal dig at United over their ‘terrible’ recruitment policy.

During an on-stage appearance at the Ulster Hall in Belfast, he said: “He [Garnacho] gets you off your seat.

“He’s giving you 10 times more than the other guy that cost so much more money.

“We’ve just recruited terribly for years and years.”

Giggs’ frustration over United’s inconsistency

One of United’s famed ‘Class of ‘92’ members, Giggs came through the youth academy and the Welshman spent his entire club playing career at Old Trafford.

The 50-year-old former Wales manager opened up on the inconsistency at the Premier League club in recent years and his frustrations over United’s management.

“Like everyone else, it’s frustrating and has been for the last six or seven years,” he said.

“Nobody knows the answer and you have to start again. It starts from the top.

“We’re just so inconsistent and you just never know what you get.”
