Ryan Giggs has given glowing praise to imminent Manchester United signing Dan James.
James has agreed personal terms on a move to Old Trafford and a £15 million fee has been struck with Swansea, the Manchester Evening News report.
The move was delayed after the death of James’ father last week, although it is expected to go through soon.
Wales boss Giggs is set to welcome James for international duty, calling him into his upcoming squad.
He was inevitably asked about the United bound winger.
Giggs told the MEN: “I think you don’t need to speak to me to see the quality of Dan. Especially from the turn of the year, the transfer breaking down at Leeds.
“He has really cracked on and for me in the last game he was excellent. He is a talent, when you have speed like that and the temperament.”
It was James’ winning goal against Slovakia in March that really highlighted his potential.
The 21-year-old is an exciting prospect, and United have incentive to wrap up a deal quickly.
Wales play on June 8 and June 11, and strong performances could see Swansea try to hike up his price, or other teams try to complicate the transfer.
Giggs will hopefully give him a nudge in the right direction to get the move over the line as quickly as possible.
