Ruben Amorim has made his feelings clear to his Manchester United players after the “intensity” from one eye-opening exercise in pre-season training at Carrington.
The 40-year-old Manchester United manager will be heading back to the dugout this weekend for the first time since the end of the two-match post-season tour of Asia.
United begin their pre-season tour this summer on Saturday with their trip to Sweden, with the Red Devils facing Leeds United in a pre-season friendly match.
The encounter between Ruben Amorim’s men and Daniel Farke’s side will be played out at the Strawberry Arena in Solna, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm UK time.
United players finally returned to the Carrington training complex last week for the start of Amorim’s first pre-season training at the Premier League club.
The first cohort of Red Devils players arrived back at the club last Monday before the second wave of United players reported to Carrington later in the same week.

What training exercise did Ruben Amorim put his Man Utd players through in the second week of pre-season at Carrington?
Ruben Amorim and his Manchester United coaching staff put in place their final preparations at Carrington ahead of their encounter against rivals Leeds United.
The former Sporting CP head coach put his players through different drills and training sessions in the second week, which ended with a round-robin tournament.
Before the round-robin tournament, however, Amorim had his players do a shooting session and a defending exercise before switching his attention elsewhere.
Adam Marshall reported for Manchester United’s official website that Amorim did a “short blast of his whistle” before he moved his players to a tough training drill.
It has been revealed that the next session took place at the Jimmy Murphy Centre at the Carrington complex and featured small nets on all four corners of the pitch.
According to Adam Marshall, the “essence” of the training drill that Amorim and his team had organised was “speed” and that point was “made clear by the coaches.”
How did Ruben Amorim react to Man Utd players after the speed-focused training drill at the Jimmy Murphy Centre?
It has been suggested that United players experienced a “noisy” and “head-spinning environment” amid the intense training course at the Jimmy Murphy Centre.
Adam Marshall’s first-hand account highlighted that Amorim’s coaches were “shouting advice” and showing “encouragement” during the fast-paced exercise.
He added that the ball would be “whizzed around at a dizzying rate” and the training exercise even “evolved” after players had to find the “tiny targets” on each corner.
However, it appeared that Amorim was impressed with what he had seen, with the United head coach looking “pleased at the end” of the training exercise.
According to United’s website, Amorim was “applauding the efforts” that were put in before moving to the round-robin tournament for the final part of training.
