Ruben Amorim is getting started at Manchester United and needs to get his players buying into his methods.
New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is getting to know his players ahead of his first match in charge next weekend.
United are away at Ipswich Town for Amorim’s first match, and he is expected to bring his successful Sporting tactical structure to the team, where he utilised a three at the back system.
United then face Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League for the first game at Old Trafford under the new boss.

Ruben Amorim ideas easy to learn
Ruben Amorim took over at Sporting in 2020, and ahead of his first ever game, he made a pledge not to try and impart too many new instructions at once.
Amorim did gradually begin getting his ideas across, and interesting comments from experienced defender at the time, Luis Neto.
Neto spoke to Sporting’s website a month into Amorim’s appointment to express his opinion on the head coach’s ideas.
He said: “In terms of his message, the coach is very positive and the information is clear and easy to convey.
“And, because of his personality, he manages to get us all working towards the same goal.
“Furthermore, the level of training and the intensity, as well as the ideas, pleased everyone and when that is the case, when you believe in the coach’s ideas, everything becomes easier.”
Encouraging for Manchester United
Neto’s comments serve as encouragement for Manchester United fans that the new head coach can get the players singing from his hymn-sheet.
United’s stars and squad players must be adaptable to Amorim, and not the other way around – but success is also dependent on his clear communication of his ideas.
Neto’s comments highlight that Amorim is a coach who players enjoy playing under, whose methods are not overly complicated.
United may be in 13th in the Premier League table, but are only four points back from third-placed Chelsea.
If United can go on an early run under Amorim, the team can get right back into the mix and start rising up the table.
