A former player under Ruben Amorim is “absolutely sure” that his big prediction around the Manchester United manager’s time at Old Trafford will come to fruition.
Ruben Amorim became the sixth permanent Manchester United manager in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era after he left Portuguese outfit Sporting CP in 2024.
The 39-year-old Portuguese manager replaced Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout after the Dutchman was sacked by the Premier League club last October.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was installed as interim United manager after Erik ten Hag was axed and the Red Devils legend led the club for a four-match run.
Amorim made a name for himself in his native homeland with Sporting CP after leading the club to two Primeira Liga titles as a manager.
However, the former Sporting boss has had a tough start to life in England and United’s form has been hit-or-miss under Amorim’s tenure.

Amorim is not ‘miracle-maker’ for Man Utd
Manchester United languish in 13th place in the Premier League table and the Red Devils have won only seven league matches in the 2024-25 campaign.
Ruben Amorim wasted no time implementing his tactical system at the Red Devils and the ex-Sporting CP manager has stuck with his formational set-up.
However, even the United manager has warned that the Red Devils should expect short-term pain before seeing a major turnaround under him.
Bruno Simao played for Portuguese side Casa Pia when Amorim took his first steps into management with the team and witnessed first-hand his tactics in action.
The 39-year-old former Casa Pia defender insisted that United fans must be “patient” and Amorim does not “have the right players for his system.”
Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine, Bruno Simao said: “This season will be very complicated.
“Ruben is good, but he’s not a miracle-maker. You couldn’t expect him to just take over and fix everything overnight.
“Fans need to be patient. He doesn’t yet have the right players for his system.”
Simao’s prediction for Amorim at Man Utd
Amorim arrived at Casa Pia in 2018 as the manager and the United boss left the club in 2019 before he went on to manage Braga’s reserves and later the senior team.
The former Casa Pia head coach was widely lauded for his work at Sporting CP and his impact with the Primeira Liga outfit before he arrived at Old Trafford.
Bruno Simao has predicted that Amorim will “leave his mark and make history” at United and he has no doubt in his mind that the Portuguese will be “successful.”
“Manchester United haven’t been heading in the right direction for a few years, but we’re talking about one of the greatest clubs in the world,” he added.
“I’m certain that during his spell there, Ruben will leave his mark and make history at that club. He will be successful, I’m absolutely sure of it.”
