Ruben Amorim has been announced as Manchester United’s new manager following the sacking of Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United sacked Erik ten Hag on Monday the 28th of October, 2024 following the Red Devils’ 2-1 defeat to West Ham United and the club moved quick for Ruben Amorim.
Amorim has now arrived in Manchester and been introduced to the Ineos senior staff, ready to start work at Carrington.
The Sporting boss warmed up last week with an impressive 4-1 victory over Pep Guardiola, which could be a good omen ahead of his stint at Old Trafford.
Here are Amorim’s opening five games for the Red Devils following the international break.

November 24th Ipswich Town vs Manchester United
It is certainly not an easy test for Amorim in his first game in Manchester with the Red Devils facing off against Kieran McKenna, a former coach under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Whilst the prospect of facing McKenna could be a tough one, the East Anglian side have not started the season very well in the Premier League so the Red Devils have to be favourites.
November 28th Manchester United vs Bodo/Glimt
Following that trip to Portman Road, United have a clash at Old Trafford against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in what is a must-win game for the club.
After United drew their opening three matches in the UEFA Europa League, Amorim’s first game at home will surely give the game the boost it needs with the Red Devils needing to win if they are to progress in the competition.
December 1st Manchester United vs Everton

Amorim’s first Premier League home game of his tenure at the club will be against Sean Dyche’s Everton which promises to be an interesting game.
Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro could be available again for selection by the time this game comes around, which would be a huge boost for the Portuguese manager.
4th December Arsenal vs Manchester United

By far, the hardest test of Amorim’s early Premier League credentials will come against Mikel Arteta’s title-chasing Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Amorim has beaten Arteta before in the UEFA Europa League with Sporting and will hope to achieve a similar result against the Gunners this time around.
7th December Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest
Rounding off Amorim’s opening five games as United manager is a clash against Nuno Espirito Santo’s in-form Nottingham Forest.
By the time the East Midlands side visits Old Trafford, the hope will be that the United first team will have adapted to Amorim’s style of play and excel.
