Manchester United were back in training recently after a win over Chelsea, hoping to build on a confidence-inducing win by going on a run.

The 2-1 win against Chelsea is followed by a tricky away game at Brentford, a place where Man Utd have been subjected to some of their worst moments.

The return of Bryan Mbeumo after a tedious transfer saga adds another spark to what will be a hotly contested game.

Therefore, Ruben Amorim will be delighted to see Joshua Zirkzee’s performance in training, while another player’s ‘astonishing’ skill also caught the eye.

Joshua Zirkzee stands out in Man Utd training

The mood in training at Carrington is upbeat right now, especially after Amorim rewarded the players by breaking his rule after the win against Chelsea.

The players returned to training eager to make a mark, and that is truer still for Zirkzee, who has struggled for minutes this season.

After picking up an injury in pre-season, Zirkzee has fallen behind his teammates, and is yet to start this season.

The hunger to get back into Amorim’s plans, who had big ambitions for Zirkzee before the start of the season, was palpable, as relayed by Man Utd’s official website.

Giving the Man Utd fans a peek into the official training, the website said: “Zirkzee was also in the zone with his shooting, firing home on a number of occasions and earning endorsement from the coaching staff for one expertly dispatched far-post finish.”

They added that Diogo Dalot’s return from injury is also going swimmingly, with the full-back looking “fighting fit”.

However, in a training where Benjamin Sesko also shone, it was his teammate’s ‘astonishing’ piece of skill that stood out.

Bruno Fernandes shows his quality

It is no secret that Bruno Fernandes is arguably the most audaciously talented footballer in the Man Utd squad for a while now.

His quality was visible again in United’s latest training, as the official website said that he looked ‘in the mood’.

They said: “Fernandes looked in the mood to quickly move past the 100-goal mark by displaying an astonishing amount of precision, and sometimes cheek, when rifling opportunities into the net on a regular basis.”

Fernandes always has the eye for doing something fancy, even in games, where his passes and outside-the-foot crosses are breathtaking at times.

Amorim and the fans will hope these good vibes transfer to the game against Brentford because United need to go on a winning run now.
