Ruben Amorim has spoken to the media for the first time as Manchester United head coach after being appointed last month.
After Erik ten Hag was sacked by Manchester United in October, Ruben Amorim was the man chosen to lead the Red Devils back to the glory days with the club currently sitting in 13th place in the Premier League.
Amorim has already spoken to the club media and certainly spoke well about United and what we could expect from him during his time as head coach.
One issue that has cropped up has been Marcus Rashford and Casemiro’s decision to fly to the United States during the international break but Amorim has delivered a staunch defence of that decision.

Speaking in his press conference as United’s head coach, Amorim was asked about Rashford and Casemiro’s decision to fly to the United States which received some criticism from Gary Neville.
“They (the club) told them they have five days off so they can fly anywhere because nobody told them that they cannot fly,” Amorim said.
“I certainly believe in the players that we have and I will do everything for this team. I will defend my players all of the time against everybody.”
Amorim defending his players in the media spotlight will certainly be beneficial to the club and this could be key to getting the best out of a stuttering Rashford.

Amorim certainly looks to be keen on cultivating a warm and friendly environment for his players and you get the sense trust will be key under the Portuguese.
Similar to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it seems unlikely that Amorim will admonish or criticise his players in public after a poor performance.
Instead, the former Sporting Lisbon manager will most likely leave the critical comments to the dressing room, which can only be a good thing for the Red Devils.
