Manchester United saw many things to build on in their 2-1 win against West Ham United to kick off their USA tour, but Bryan Mbeumo looked from the sidelines.
Bryan Mbeumo signed for Man Utd before the squad left for pre-season, earning precious settling-in time to train with his new teammates.
Still, he was left out of the squad altogether vs West Ham and was seen training with the players on the field after the game.
Ruben Amorim spoke about his absence after the 2-1 win vs West Ham and picked out a date for his debut with a clear plan.

Bryan Mbeumo’s Man Utd debut
Anyone who expected Mbeumo to debut against West Ham was always a bit optimistic as the forward hadn’t trained on the pitch before arriving at United.
Due to his future being uncertain at Brentford, he was only doing gym-work despite returning for pre-season with The Bees.
Therefore, he needed time to get up to speed to play competitive football, especially with a new team and in new surroundings.
Amorim spoke about his status after the game and stressed the same, adding that he doesn’t expect to see him against Bournemouth either.
United play Bournemouth on July 31, before finishing their USA tour with a game against Everton on August 4.
Speaking to MUTV after the game, Amorim said that August 4 game is when he expects Mbeumo to play his first minutes for the club.
He said: “[Mbeumo] won’t play the next one. We hope to have Bryan in the last game.”
Mbeumo is an example of needing signings early
The transfer window might be open until September, but the importance of signing players early can already be seen from the fact that Mbeumo is behind his teammates.
Ineos did well to get him on the plane to the USA, and he will still get multiple games with the team before competitive fixtures begin.
However, unlike Cunha, he will be three games behind most of his teammates by the time he makes his debut for the club.
Ultimately, Mbeumo has always been a naturally fit player so it shouldn’t take him too much time to get up to speed.
Still, this paints the picture of United’s next potential signings having a hard time ahead of them, especially if it’s someone like Douglas Luiz, who isn’t training with Juventus at all.
