Ruben Amorim addressed his Manchester United players in a team meeting after the Europa League final to inform them of his plans for next season.

It was another disappointing week for Manchester United to make a bad season even worse.

The Red Devils lost 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final to throw away an opportunity to qualify for the Champions League.

As a result, Ruben Amorim’s side won’t be competing in any European competitions next season.

It also means Amorim will get more time to work with his players on the training ground, with more preparation afforded to Premier League matches.

After suffering defeat in the Europa League final, Amorim offered to walk away from Old Trafford without any compensation if Ineos and United fans no longer felt he was the man for the job.

That has led to speculation that Amorim could leave United before the start of next season.

Ruben Amorim tells Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club

A few days have passed since United suffered heartbreak in the Europa League final.

Every fan and pundit has had more time to digest what happened in Bilbao, but the same applies to those who were responsible for United coming up short.

According to The Athletic, Amorim addressed players at Carrington on Saturday to inform them of his plans and those for Alejandro Garnacho.

Amorim informed his United first-team squad he will remain in charge next season.

It is also understood that Garnacho was told to find a new club.

Garnacho voiced his frustrations with Amorim after only getting to play the final 26 minutes in Bilbao, which only added to the narrative that he could be set to leave Old Trafford this summer.

The 20-year-old is one of United’s most exciting prospects but questions exist whether he is suited to Amorim’s preferred system.

That said, Garnacho was United’s only livewire in the final third when he was introduced from the bench against Tottenham.

It remains to be seen if Garnacho has played his final game for United.

The latest reports suggest there has been a breakdown in Garnacho’s relationship with Amorim.

When that happened Marcus Rashford, it wasn’t long before the England international was sent on loan to Aston Villa.

Garnacho did not reach the levels he managed last season for United and struggled to perform following Amorim’s appointment in November.
