The 33-year-old Brazilian midfielder impressed in the second half of the 2024-25 season, including Casemiro’s run of form in United’s Europa League final campaign.
Casemiro has since climbed back into the Brazil national team and the United star showed a body transformation after he reported for pre-season back in the summer.
The former Real Madrid star has been Amorim’s preferred midfield pick for the two-man pivot alongside Bruno Fernandes in the Red Devils’ tactical system this season.

Casemiro has played in 10 of Manchester United’s opening 11 Premier League matches in the 2025-26 campaign, with the Brazilian starting nine times for his side.
The Brazil international missed United’s 3-1 Premier League defeat to Brentford in September due to suspension, following his red card against Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Casemiro has impressed for United and the Brazil midfielder has netted three times and registered one assist in his 10 Premier League appearances this season.
Speaking to Stadium Astro, Ruben Amorim was asked if he could identify the reason why Casemiro has seen a huge turnaround in form under his reign since 2024.

“The mentality of Casemiro,” he said.
“He improved even without the five Champions League, a lot of leagues, [the] national team [and] all that he’s done.
“He is still is able to learn to understand that I want to play in a different way.
Maybe he’s a little bit different than he was used to play[ing] and he has the mentality and the humility to understand that he needs to respect that.”

Casemiro has only played the full 90 minutes on one occasion this season, which came in United’s 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
The former Los Blancos star has shown his quality at times, but there have been concerns over Casemiro’s influence waning before he is eventually hooked off.
United manager Amorim has insisted that Casemiro is able to “hide his limitations” at times because of the type of player that he is and his huge experience in football.

“He is really smart, really experienced,” he added.
“Sometimes he can hide his limitations and that is a very good quality in the player and he can help the others, too, every day in training because he is so perfect in the way he trains and that is a good thing.”
Casemiro is out of contract with United in 2026 and the former Sao Paulo player has been tipped to leave Old Trafford at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
