Manchester United’s three new signings are on pre-season in the United States.
Ruben Amorim may have left several of his Manchester United players at home for the pre-season tour, ahead of potential moves away from Old Trafford, but there is no way he was leaving any of his new signings behind.
Matheus Cunha was the first summer arrival from Wolves earlier in the summer, but Diego Leon followed soon after despite reaching an agreement with United in January.
The South American duo started in United’s scoreless draw against Leeds in Stockholm last weekend.
It took over a month for United to conduct another summer signing as Bryan Mbeumo joined from Brentford.
United fans will hope to see Mbeumo in action when United take on West Ham in their Summer Series opener in New Jersey. It will be their second pre-season friendly of the summer.

Everyone at United was delighted to see Mbeumo finally complete his transfer from Brentford, so that he could join up with the squad before they jetted out to the United States.
The pre-season tour allows fans from around the world to see these new signings up close. Cunha made his debut against Leeds, but will feature again when United take on the Hammers at the MetLife Stadium.
Speaking to ManUtd.com ahead of the game against West Ham, Amorim made it clear that he wanted to rubbish a ‘lie’ about his new signings since some critics said Cunha and Mbeumo joined United and turned down other clubs for the money.
“Cunha and Bryan, they had different solutions [offers],” Amorim said.
“They had Champions League offers. And they wanted to come here. People that say that they come here because of the money… that is a lie. That I know for sure. So, I’m really happy with that.
“That is the key point. They have to want to come here. I think what we can do to the fans is that we want players who have proved [themselves] already. Sometimes you have a player with a lot of potential, you have to be aware of that, but all the players that are coming, we need to know the player. We need to talk to the player, we have to explain the project.
“And then one really important thing is that they want to come here. That is the key point. If during the market we can find someone that can help the team and have all that boxes with them, we are going to do it. If not, we cannot do it because it’s an important time in our club.”
First impressions of Cunha and Mbeumo
In the same interview, Amorim revealed his first impressions of Cunha and Mbeumo.
The United head coach is delighted with his new recruits but will hope Ineos can secure more players before the competitive campaign begins.
Amorim was quick to notice how humble his two new players are.
“The first thing is that they are really humble,” he said.
“They know how to get inside one group, so they don’t feel like they are the stars. They are team players at the same time, but it’s not just what they give to the team, it’s the way they make good team-mates. So they are improving this team in every aspect.
“They are feeling at home, that is my feeling. We are bonding. At the same time, we are putting our ideas, working on the physical aspect of the game, so everything is going well.”
