Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane was keen to praise Rasmus Hojlund for his goal for the Red Devils.

Manchester United picked up a vital 2-1 victory over Unai Emery’s Aston Villa thanks to a late header from Scott McTominay after a wonderful assist from Diogo Dalot.

The Red Devils have cut the gap to the Champions League places to just five points and it was a Rasmus Hojlund goal in the first half that got United on their way.

Hojlund netted in the first half and this was his fifth goal for the Red Devils in his last five Premier League games and he is beginning to excel in front of goal.

Keane praises Hojlund

Speaking at half-time, Roy Keane was full of praise for the striker’s finish in the first half and the Danish star is continuing his impressive rise in the league.

“He’s on fire,” Keane said on Sky Sports. “It took him a few months to get up to speed but he’s looking much more comfortable now and it was a nice finish.”

Hojlund now has 11 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils and the Danish star is beginning to look like the striker that the Red Devils invested so heavily in.

United paid £64 million for the Danish forward from Atalanta in the summer but he was struggling to score in the Premier League, ironically, however, the winning goal against Villa at Old Trafford was the kickstarter for the striker.

Hojlund’s season

This was another complete performance from the 21-year-old striker, his goal aside too, the striker was superb for the Red Devils with his defensive work, in particular, being impressive.

Since the victory over Aston Villa, the club have seemingly turned a corner and Hojlund has also seemingly found his groove for the Red Devils.

His goalscoring instincts have been there for all to see and the Danish star is seemingly finally becoming the forward that United paid all that money for.
