Manchester United legend Roy Keane has given his verdict on the club’s summer signings.

Four major signings have arrived at Manchester United so far this summer to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad, with the total price reaching close to £200 million.

The focus this window was to overhaul United’s attacking options and the trio of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha have arrived to provide Amorim with a new-look front three.

During Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, Amorim was impressed by Cunha and Mbeumo, while Sesko will hope for more minutes against Fulham after coming off the bench in the second half.

Roy Keane gives verdict on Bryan Mbeumo at Man United

Mbeumo starred against Arsenal on his debut and was unlucky not to mark his first professional appearance for the club with a goal.

Club captain Bruno Fernandes argues Mbeumo will get even better at United, and Roy Keane is also confident that he has an exciting season ahead of him.

Speaking on The Overlap, Keane was asked to decide whether Mbeumo would be a “hit” or “flop” at United.

“I think he’ll be a hit. He’s tenacious, he’s dogged,” Keane said.

Ian Wright agreed with his co-host, adding: “He does it against all the teams as well, I think he’ll make it work.”

Gary Neville and Roy Keane back Matheus Cunha to succeed

The very next name to leave Gary Neville’s mouth as the host of the podcast was another United signing: Matheus Cunha.

Cunha looked worthy of the No.10 shirt in his performance against Arsenal, with the Brazilian playmaker showcasing his elite dribbling by carving several chances on his debut.

When asked if Cunha will be a ‘hit’ or ‘flop’ at United, both Neville and Keane were quick to agree.

“I think he’s going to hit, he’s got the personality,” Neville said. Keane added: “Yeah, I’m going to give him a hit as well.”

Interestingly, all co-hosts on the podcast agreed that Cunha will succeed at United following his £62.5 million move.
