Robin van Persie revealed that four Manchester United legends are among the six best star-studded players that he shared the pitch with in his prolific playing career.
The 40-year-old Dutchman thrived under legendary former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger at the north London club before his blockbuster transfer to United.
Legendary former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson lured ex-Arsenal star Van Persie to Old Trafford in 2012 after the Red Devils snapped him up in a £24m deal.
Van Persie’s arrival was the catalyst for Ferguson to capture his last Premier League title with United before the 81-year-old iconic Scotsman retired in 2013.
The former United striker scored an impressive 26 times and registered 15 assists in 38 Premier League matches in the 2012-13 season.

Van Persie’s six best teammates in his career
Van Persie’s stunning goalscoring exploits as part of United’s last Premier League title win earned him the coveted Premier League Golden Boot.
During his prolific playing career, the former United and Arsenal man played with a plethora of talented players both for club and on the international stage.
According to GiveMeSport in 2019, Van Persie took part in a series of ‘quick-fire questions’ with BBC Sport and the Dutchman opened up on his best teammates.
“I would go for Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Ruud van Nistelrooy,” he said at the time.
What else did Van Persie answer?
Van Persie continued to play for United after Ferguson’s retirement, but the former Netherlands striker’s subsequent two seasons were far from successful.
The ex-United star, who is now a coach, left Old Trafford in 2015 and went on to play for the likes of Fenerbahce and Feyenoord before his retirement in 2019.
During his interview with the BBC, Van Persie was also asked to choose between United and Arsenal and between Wenger and Ferguson.
For both of the aforementioned questions, the former Netherlands international didn’t align himself with one option and instead opted for “both” as his response.
The best players that Van Persie played against came from his time in the Premier League, with the ex-United striker naming Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand as his two picks.
“There was a partnership, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand,” he said.
