Rio Ferdinand has told his Five YouTube channel he is supremely confident Manchester United will finish in the top four this season.
Manchester United sit in fifth place in the Premier League at present – with a game in hand which could lift us into fourth place.
United are looking very strong right now, keeping five clean sheets in the last six games in all competitions.
This was a weekend where competitors Liverpool and Chelsea both lost matches, and United took advantage, now sitting with a seven-point advantage over Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Rio Ferdinand ‘would put house on’ top four
Rio Ferdinand is very confident at this point that Manchester United will secure a Champions League place.
He explained: “It’ll be Arsenal, Man City and Man United are the three ones i’d put my house on now.
“And then the the fourth one I can’t pick. Newcastle could come in and take it.”
Nobody at Manchester United will be getting carried away. Right now the team are not even in the top four.
Tottenham are in third position and Newcastle fourth, with Arsenal and Manchester City occupying the top two spots.
The World Cup break threatens to throw the form book out the window too, with an unprecented six-week pause midway through the season.
There will be further challenges too, with the Europa League knockout stages and FA Cup in 2023, adding to the fixture list.
If United are going to land a top four place, it won’t be straightforward, and the team will have to show an ability to deal with pressure late in the season.
At this early stage, there is reason to have some confidence – but we wouldn’t suggest actually betting your house on it just yet.
