Michael Carrick has received rave reviews about his conduct and Man Utd, and Rio Ferdinand recently got an insider scoop from a player about the same.
The Man Utd manager job has been made to look extremely easy by Michael Carrick, as he has the club on the precipice of Champions League qualification.
He’s done so by combining underrated tactical nous with masterful man management, as the players seem empowered by his system.
Rio Ferdinand was recently at Carrington for an interview, and he shared the insider scoop he received about Carrick’s approach.

Do Man Utd deserve more credit for being in third place?
Champions League football is almost guaranteed…
What Ferdinand is hearing about Michael Carrick’s approach
Much has been made about Carrick bringing a sense of calmness to Man Utd’s affairs on and off the pitch, with his communication style bringing a much-needed contrast to Ruben Amorim’s fire.
An embattled Man Utd squad welcomed Carrick’s coolness and has responded with some fire on the pitch, where it belongs.
Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel that an unnamed Man Utd player he spoke to recently went into detail about Carrick’s communication approach.
The former United defender came away filled with “huge belief” after hearing the words of that player.
He said: “I was at Old Trafford recently for an interview and spoke to a player there who told me that the way that Michael Carrick is addressing the team in critical moments, it filled me with huge, huge, huge, huge, huge belief. And he justified why I have this confidence in him.”
Ferdinand’s claim should delight Man Utd fans because many have had questions about whether Carrick can bring the fire when needed to balance out the coolness.
The “critical moments” part is important because United have had two losses under Carrick, and responded with a win in the very next game on both occasions.
It proves that the worries about Carrick having the “hairdryer treatment” in his back pocket are unfounded, because the results speak for themselves.
If he didn’t have the ability to shock the players out of a loss, then United wouldn’t be winning the game immediately after to provide a strong response.
