Rio Ferdinand took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and reacted to Manchester United’s 4-4 thrilling scoreline against Bournemouth.
The 47-year-old United legend admitted that he had “mixed” feelings about what he saw from the Red Devils’ overall Premier League performance at Old Trafford.

Ferdinand wrote: “Going for a lay [sic] down after that… Mixed emotions. Defender hat on – I would have been screaming!
“However, we’ve been asking for more attacking football this season, [the] team to show fight, flexibility in formation from the manager.
“We got it all tonight, just not the 3 points.”
Ferdinand then insisted that Gary Neville’s assessment of United’s performance was spot on after his fellow Red Devils legend was incredibly content with the display.
The former England and United defender continued: “[Neville] summed it up after 75 minutes. ‘Man Utd are losing 3-2, but it’s a performance I can live with.’”

Speaking after the match at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim admitted that the Red Devils failed to capitalise on their opportunities in the first half of the contest.

“If you look at the game, you can think that we lost the two points in the second half.
“I think we lost the two points in the first half. We should have more goals.”

The 40-year-old United manager added: “We should [have] a different result at half-time.
“Similar to Nottingham Forest [2-2 draw], we suffer[ed] two goals really fast, but we managed to get back to take the advantage again.
“And then we need to close the game. Again, it was a fun game to watch. Of course, there is a feeling of scoring four goals and not winning the game.”
United will now return to Premier League action on late Sunday afternoon, with the Red Devils visiting Villa Park to face Aston Villa.
