Rio Ferdinand delivers ‘real deal’ verdict on Alejandro Garnacho

Pundit Rio Ferdinand has praised Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as the ‘real deal’ after his fine goal against Galatasaray.

United were in Champions League action tonight and played out a simply bonkers game against Galatasaray.

Erik ten Hag’s men raced into a 2-0 lead with Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes finding the net.

Hakim Ziyech gave Galatasaray hope before Scott McTominay restored United’s two-goal lead.

Another Ziyech free kick gave United reason to worry and Kerem Akturkoglu found a leveller to leave United with a 3-3 draw.

United really needed to win this game, so to squander two points from 2-0 and then 3-1 up is a bitter disappointment.

Seeing Garnacho score again is at least a boost, just days after his remarkable acrobatic goal against Everton.

This wasn’t quite as spectacular but it was still a superb finish, firing high into the roof of the net on his left foot.

Garnacho’s goal left Rio Ferdinand dazzled as the former United defender shared his verdict on TNT Sports.

Ferdinand suggested that Garnacho is simply ‘the real deal’ and he has quite simply no doubt in his mind about his quality.

Ferdinand added that Garnacho has ‘ice in his veins’ having coolly taken his goal in an unbelievable atmosphere in Istanbul.

“Garnacho is the real deal, there is no doubt in my mind, he is the real deal,” said Ferdinand. “This kid has got ice in his veins,” he added.

Garnacho really needs to kick on now

This has been quite the week for Garnacho having hit the headlines with his goal against Everton.

Garnacho has been wasteful at times this season, with his one-on-one hesitation against Luton Town springing to mind.

This is encouraging stuff from Garnacho though, who has to live up to sky-high expectations from United fans.

Ferdinand clearly sees the superstar potential in Garnacho too and this superb week for him should be the springboard for more consistent form.

Keeping his place won’t be easy and there are likely to be some bumps in the road, but we will hopefully see Garnacho really kick on after two goals in just a few days.
