Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand is now convinced that it is “written in the stars” for one team to win Euro 2024 in Germany.
Host nation Germany, Portugal, France and England are widely considered among the favourites to lift the Henri Delaunay trophy at this summer’s Euros.
All four of the aforementioned teams have secured their place in the quarter-finals after picking up wins in their round-of-16 encounters.
Germany punched their ticket to the next stage of the competition and will face Spain after an impressive 2-0 win over Denmark in the last 16.
France managed to squeeze past Belgium with a 1-0 win on Monday, while Portugal managed to beat a resilient Slovenia side on penalties.
England, meanwhile, will meet Switzerland in the quarter-finals after a 2-1 comeback win against Slovakia on the weekend.

Ferdinand makes Euro 2024 prediction
Rio Ferdinand made his feelings clear on who he believes will be the winner at Euro 2024 after England avoided a shock exit at the hands of Slovakia.
Ivan Schranz stunned England in the first half after he fired Slovakia into a shock lead, with the Three Lions fighting an uphill battle in the last-16 tie.
England managed to produce an equaliser late into injury time after Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham scored from an unexpected overhead kick.
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane then fired England into the lead within the first minute of extra time with a headed finish from close range.
Speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE, the Manchester United legend claimed that it is now “written” for England to win the Henri Delaunay trophy at Euro 2024.
“There comes a time in a tournament when you actually start believing you’re going to win it and I think this was the moment. I really do,” he said.
“On the way back to base camp now, they will be celebrating and having a few beers maybe if they’re lucky.
“They’re through to the quarter-finals, on the best side of the draw, it’s written in the stars. It’s written! We’re going to win it.
“Maybe I’m getting carried away but I don’t care, I don’t give a monkeys. I’m getting carried away because I’m an England fan, I’m emotional and I love it.”
Ferdinand on England vs Switzerland
Switzerland knocked Euro 2020 champions Italy out of the competition with a convincing 2-0 win in the last 16.
Ex-United star Ferdinand admitted that Switzerland could cause “more problems” for England and the Three Lions are facing a “tough” match in the quarter-finals.
“Switzerland, that’s going to be a tough game,” he said.
“I think they’re better than who we played today and can cause us more problems.
“Slovakia were the better team tonight, they were more structured, composed and controlled. But that character and [a] little bit of quality from England showed.”
