Manchester United’s starting line-up for the clash with Atletico Madrid contains a couple of surprises.
De Gea; Lindelof, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, Fernandes, Pogba; Rashford, Sancho, Ronaldo
The big shock comes with Victor Lindelof appearing to start as a right-back, with both Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the bench.
Marcus Rashford also returns to the starting XI, while injured Scott McTominay does not even make the bench after picking up a knock against Leeds.

Reaction
Two of Manchester United’s 2008 Champions League winners have spoken on BT Sport and expect an attacking approach, with the extra centre-back shoring things up at the back.
Owen Hargreaves said: “It is an attacking team. Maybe they think it is a good option to go for it. The way they’ve set up, they’ll be looking to score goals and win the game.”
Rio Ferdinand commented: “Maybe they have taken into account Atletico’s form. He’s [Rangnick] thinking there’s chances to be had here.”
Neither United or Atletico are having particularly strong seasons, with the Spanish side in fifth place in La Liga.
Atletico XI
Atletico are missing key midfielder Koke, while Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann only make the bench.
Oblak, Vrsaljko, Gimenez, Savic, Lodi, Kondogbia, Herrera, Reinildo, Llorente, Correa, Felix
This fixture is United’s first Champions League knockout game since 2019, and represents the club’s only remaining chance of silverware this season.
