Reports from Italy suggest that Manchester United are interested in signing Juventus left back Alex Sandro.
Sandro only signed for the Italian club last year but Calcio Mercato suggest that Jose Mourinho is keen to make a move for the defender.
The Italian outlet reports that Juventus are keen to seek double the €26m they paid Porto for the Brazilian international last year.
Alex Sandro was a part of the golden Atletico youth setup, which produced a great amount of defenders in very little time, with Raul, Manoel, Ronaldo, Carlao and Bruno Costa all making themselves known in 2009. After being a part of the national under 18 setup, Alex Sandro was called up to the Brazil U20 in August 2009, alongside teammates Raul, Renan and Gabriel Pimba. He made his debut in a friendly match, despite being only 18 years old.
He has played 37 games for Juventus and scored twice. It would seem to be a bold move for the United manager if indeed it has any validity; United are well stocked in the left back position with the potential of Luke Shaw, the dependable Daley Blind and the promising Cameron Borthwick-Jackson. Marcos Rojo has played there but his performances over the last year suggest he may not have a long term future at United; there have been question marks in the media about just how much Mourinho rates Luke Shaw, and with Alex Sandro fitting the mould of the strong, athletic, fit defender he tends to go for.
It is unlikely that such a deal would take place before the summer.
