Manchester United have made an offer to Leicester City for their centre half Harry Maguire, according to Sky Sports.
Maguire, who signed for the Foxes last year, was one of England’s major stars at this summer’s World Cup. Having cost just £17m from Hull City, his price tag is rumoured to be around the £50-60m mark.
United have been seeking to strengthen their defence all summer and have seen negotiations with Tottenham break down, so instead have turned their attention to Maguire, whose form in Russia brought admirers from around the world.
And Sky Sports have reported that United have made an official enquiry as they seek to make their fourth signing of the summer, after Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant.
25 year old Maguire played every league game last season, scoring 2 goals.
It is believed that Leicester will reject any opening offer; Maguire, however, remains the player most likely to move from England’s starring team this summer.
