Matteo Darmian seems set to complete a move to Italian giants Juventus, according to reports coming out of the country.

Darmian has been an underwhelming signing since arriving at Old Trafford three years ago and has been a target for the Italian champions for almost a full year.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that a deal for the international full-back is ‘close’.

The move will be a logical one for the player who will be keen to get more first team football. It may also be the first in a series of negotiations between the clubs this summer with United linked with a move for Alex Sandro.

Since signing from Torino, Darmian has made 54 appearances for United. His career at the club started well, with supporters naming him the club’s player of the month in his first month for United in August 2015. He will leave for his homeland having won the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League.
